Offered is a beautiful antique medical Civil War period surgeons tonsillotome guillotine instrument. Signed J. REYNDERS who started in 1853 in New York. Instrument has nicely hand carved checkered cut ebony wood handle with silver finished brass and steel. It has a very sharp blade in fine condition n the instrument has a wonderful original finish showing age and history. All parts intact. No damage or repairs. The wood handle is very nice with no cracks or chips and tightly fastens to the blade cutting mechanism. In excellent working condition. 6 5/8" - 7 3/4" long. 5" long handle. Please email questions.
